Mission
and Objectives of the Institute
The Area: Bornova
Veterinary Control and Research Institute is responsible for
the Aydın, Denizli, Izmir, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla and Uşak
provinces in the Aegean Region of Turkey.

Our
institute has laboratories which are National Referance
Laboratories for Fish Diseases, Bi valve Mollusc Diseases,
Avian Influenza, and Antibiotic Residue Analyses in food. It
is the only control center for Veterinary Vaccines and
Biological Products in the country, therefore our institute
acts on a national level for this issue as well.
Responsibilities:
Bornova Veterinary Control and Research Institute provides
diagnostic services for the diseases of big and small
ruminants, poultry, companion animals, bees and aquatic
species as well as analytical examinations for foods of
animal origin in the Aydın, Denizli, Izmir, Kütahya,
Manisa, Muğla and Uşak provinces of the Aegean region of
Turkey. The institute, as well as being the only center in
Turkey for the control of veterinary biological products
imported or locally produced, also carries out the services
of National Referance Laboratory for Antibiotic Residue
Analyses, Fish Diseases, Bi valve Mollusc Diseaes and Avian
Influenza.
Our
institute, provides research, education and consultancy
sevices and also publishes a scientific journal.
