Parasitology Department

 

 

Mission Statement:

Our department is responsible for the diagnosis of epidemic or endemic  parasitic diseases of big and small ruminants, companion animals, poultry and fish within the 7 provinces which are in the institute’s area of responsibility. We work on helminths ( cestodes, nematodes, and trematodes ), protozoans and arthropods which are disease vectors.

 

We provide training for veterinarians who work in the Aegean region.

Our department conducts research on national and regional level.

We provide summer internships for Veterinary students.

Our depapartment carries out the immunity and safety tests of parasitic vaccines in Turkey.

We contribute to the monitoring and screening of Bi valve mollusc diseases.
